Ernie Pino Memorial Adopt-A-Student Scholarship
Ernesto “Ernie” Pino was a well-loved fixture of the Seattle food and entertainment scene for years: a celebrated chef, food writer and media personality who eagerly shared his knowledge of Spanish and Latin American cuisine to many food professionals. As a columnist for Seattle Magazine, the host of culinary events all over the city and a regular guest on the radio, Ernie was an invaluable supporter of the local food scene – promoting up-and-coming chefs and new restaurants with enthusiasm. He wore many hats – voice-over actor, children’s book author, Spanish language translator – but his passion was food. He believed in the Seattle restaurant community and its potential. This scholarship in his name is meant to continue his mission – to support the next generation of Seattle’s most talented chefs.
